Public Lecture in Parahyangan Catholic University

A public lecture on the Creative Placemaking Project (CPP) was conducted in the form of a talk show based on documentary movie screening and presentation of CPP research findings. General introductory remarks on Indonesia in the context of global forced migration was presented as an opening to set up the context of this event. A movie directed by Ali Reza Yawari, who has been living for years in Indonesia as a refugee, was screened to better visualize the topic and trigger discussion. More specific research on urban refugees in Makassar and how the city welcomes them were presented to narrow down the focus. A small questionnaire was also distributed to grasp the experience of the audience before and after the event.

This event was hosted by the Parahyangan Center for International Studies (PACIS) and Department of International Relations, Universitas Parahyangan. It is co-organized with the Urban Refugees Research Group, Resilience Development Initiative (RDI), with research grant support from Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF).
